The word “Coach,” also refers to a teacher or mentor. What I realized when I began working on this episode is that everyone has been my coach, mentor, or teacher, even those whose lessons were hard to learn. So I drew an “empty silhouette” of Joy Coach, surrounded her in rainbow colors and began writing the names of everyone I could remember who had touched my life. All of the energy of the people whose names surround Joy’s silhouette has flowed through me, and is a part of who I am. The energy of emptiness, of that hollow silhouette, is also the energy of fullness, of what I have received from others. As such, this episode is also about gratitude.
